Description
A fabric that has been treated to form puckers or crinkles. Plissé is generally made from cotton that is treated with caustic solutions to shrink a portion of the cloth. The pattern is often formed in lengthwise patterns to form a seersucker like effect. The puckering is permanent until the fabric is ironed. Plissé can also be made with other fabrics, such as rayon and acetate.
