Description

An old term for a high quality turpentine prepared by multiple distillations. Rectified turpentine is a colorless, transparent solution. Impurities which would otherwise cause cloudiness or darkening have been removed by the distillation process. The purity of turpentine can be checked by placing a drop of solvent on a blotting paper. Rectified turpentine will not leave a dark stain after evaporation.
