Description
A material added to paper pulp or cloth to decrease porosity; add luster or weight, and increase stiffness. Examples are rosin, glue, gelatin, casein, gums, starch, synthetic resins (polyvinyl alcohol, polystyrene, polyacrylic acid and polyvinyl acetate), and modified cellulose.
