Uemura's notes 5g of air dried bark of the plant were boiled in 100cc of water, from which 25cc was used for the dyeing. The amount of the contained bark in the dye bath was 2.5 times as much as the weight of the silk used (0.5g). From the right sample, the dye compound were re-extracted from the fabric in a hot water, and the extract was dried. The dried extract weighed 25% of the fabric.
