Description

Any of several grasslike plants of the family Cyperaceae found in marshy areas of temperate zones. Sedge grasses have solid, triangular stems. They are used for mats, hats, basketry and papermaking. Examples are: bulrush, chufa, cotton grass, papyrus and umbrella plant.
