Description

A polyester resin that incorporates aromatic groups in its composition. Aromatic polyesters, or polyarylates, were introduced in 1978. This amorphous polymer is made from phthalic acids and bisphenols. Polyarylates are stable in UV radiation and have good fire resistance. They are used in solar collectors, tinted glazing, electrical hardware, and light covers.
