Description
A test used to determine the water or oil resistance of a piece of fabric or paper. The ring test is performed by placing a drop of water or oleic acid on the surface of the test piece. The Library Binding Institute requirements for book cloth state that no penetration should occur in the first 10 minutes for the water drop or 5 minutes for the oil drop.
