Description

A stony meteorite. Chondrites are composed of small spherical granules embedded in a crystalline matrix. Stony meteorites account for about 80% of all meteorites. They contain pyroxenes and are classed accordingly as: enstatite, bronzite, or hypersthene. Chondrites have been dated using their strontium isotope ratios.
