Creole marble

Description

Several varieties of a mottled, coarse-grain marbles quarried in Pickens County, Georgia. Creole marble have a white or gray background with prominent bluish-black veins and clouds. The amount of coloring produces tones ranging from light to dark. They are commercially sold as Light Creole, Medium Creole and Dark Creole. Creole marbles are used in building construction.
