Description

A thermoplastic resin which is similar to natural natural rubber. Polybutadiene is made by the polymerization of 1,3-butadiene with a stereospecific organometallic catalyst in order to obtain the cis isomer. Polybutadiene has good wear and crack resistance. It is used in tire treads and as a coating. It is often blended with Styrene to form rubber SBR and blended with styrene and Acrylonitrile to form butadiene styrene resin ABS rubbers.
