Description

[US Gypsum Co] A registered trademark for a series of gypsum based construction materials. The most widely known type of Sheetrock, a drywall gypsum board, was originally produced in 1937. It is used as a plaster substitute for interior walls. Other types of Sheetrock products include: joint compound, joint tape, cement, ceiling panels, liner panels, coreboard, foil-backed panels, water-resistant panels, acoustical sealant, floor patch compound and texture finish paint. The name Sheetrock is sometimes incorrectly used generically for any drywall Gypsum board.
