Bromophenol blue

Description
A tan to orange powder that is used as an acid-base indicator dye. In solution, bromophenol blue gives a yellow color below pH 3.0 and purple color above pH 4.6.

Physical and Chemical Properties
Soluble in ethanol, ether, ethyl acetate, benzene, alkali solutions. Slightly soluble in water. Hexagonal crystals.
