A soft, thin waterleaf Paper made in China from Bamboo fibers. China paper is unsized and very absorbent. It absorbs Ink without smearing and was used for taking impressions of engravings and wood cuts. China paper is also called Indian proof paper; it is not the same as India paper (i.e. Bible paper).
