Description
[BASF] A registed trademark until 2010 for a series of synthetic dyes. Zapon dyes are initially soluble in water and most organic solvents. However, they hydrolyze in water or air to form a stable, insoluble product. Zapon dyes are used in varnishes and paints.in organic solvents ( alcohols and glycol ethers ) are readily soluble. They belong to the group of organic metal complex dyes , mostly with chromium or copper or cobalt as the central atom .
Zapon dyes are used as a component of transparent lacquers ( Zapon lacquer ) for metals and for wood stains.
