Giallo antico marble

Description

A fine-grain, pale to dark yellow-color marble quarried in the hills near Simitthus (modern Chemtou) in Tunisia since the second century BCE. Giallo anitco marble usually has veins of orange, pink or red. It was used for sculptures and buildings.
