Description

[TAM, a Cookson Co.] A brand name for a Zirconium oxide opacifier used in ceramic glazes. Opax also contains small amounts of Silica, Sodium oxide and Alumina. It is used for hard-glaze dinnerware and wall tiles (Brady 1971).
