Description

[Molecular Probes] A registered trademark for a red fluorescent dye used to detect proteins. Texas Red® is composed of sulforhodamine 101 sulfonyl chloride. Texas Red® binds with soluble proteins producing sulfonyl chloride which is readily washed away with water.

Physical and Chemical Properties

  • Soluble in dimethylformamide, acetone
  • Maximum absorption wavelength = 589-595 nm
  • Maximum emission wavelength = 615-620 nm
