Description

Any of several types of grass (family Poaceae) with small round, edible seed grains. Since at least 2000 BCE, millet has been cultivated in Africa and Asia. Millet, now grown world-wide, is used in human and animal food products. The grains contain carbohydrates (< 60%), protein (6-11%), fat (0.5-1.5%) along with moisture and other products.
