Description

A technical grade mixture of isomeric mono-alkyl phenols. Nonylphenol is a pale yellow, oily liquid. It is used as a nonionic Surfactant, even though it is nonbiodegradable. Nonylphenol is also used as a Fungicide and as an Antioxidant in plastics and rubber.

Physical and Chemical Properties

Soluble is benzene, chlorinated solvents, aniline, heptane, aliphatic alcohols, ethylene glycol. Insoluble in water, dilute sodium hydroxide.
