Description

A clear, sweet smelling organic ester used a solvent, perfume, and general reagent in various transesterification reactions. Propyl propionate has been considered as a safer substitute for toluene, however there is little to no information available on its long term affects on humans.

Applications

  • Evaporates faster than xylene
  • Appears to be an effective carrier for Paraloid B72

Risks

  • Highly flammable with a low flash point (-19C).
