Non-destructive EEM spectra for some common yellow colorants found in Edo period Japanese prints. Turmeric gave a clear pattern, but we found that all of the yellow flavonoids that we analyzed produced similar patterns that were not easily distinguished. Additionally, gamboge, which was likely commonly used, did not fluoresce well.
