Cadmium barium red

Description

Cadmium barium red at 100x; normal and UV light

A red cadmium pigment co-precipitated on Barium sulfate. Also called cadmium lithopone reds, these pigments were first used in 1926. Cadmium barium red is a permanent color that has poorer hiding power and lower tinting strength than pure cadmium red pigment.
