Description

A textured yarn that has been processed to form a series of spirals or concentric rings. Coil yarn can be a torque yarn when twists are included in the coil formation. This is made by the false-twist method where a strand is simultaneously twisted, heat-set then untwisted. Examples are Superloft, Flufon and Helenca. Non-torque coil yarn can be prepared by the edge crimp method in which a thermoplastic yarn is heated, stretched the drawn over a crimping edge and cooled. An example is Agilon yarn.
