Description

A dark brown to black residue left after the production of soaps and candles from Fatty acid oils and fats. Fatty acid pitch is used in black paints, varnishes, and tarred paper as well as for a waterproofing agent, sealant, and rubber filler.

Physical and Chemical Properties

Soluble in naphtha and carbon disulfide.
