Description

A thin, tough product made from cured strips of animal intestines. The intestines are cleaned, soaked in an alkali solution then shaped and cured. Sheep gut are used as strings for musical instruments, bowstrings, racquet cords, and medical sutures. Gut from oxen are used to make goldbeater's skin.
