Description
A colorless liquid solvent with an acetone-like odor. Methyl isobutyl ketone is used as a solvent for nitrate cellulose nitrate, gums, resin resins, fats, waxes, and oils. It is used commercially in paints, varnishes, and synthetic lacquers and as a denaturant for alcohol ethanol.
