Description

A bright cherry-red synthetic organic colorant. Parachlor reds are made by introducing chlorine into the para red dye structure. Different shades are obtained by varying temperature and pH of the mixture. They are fairly permanent but are not used in artists paints because of bleeding. Parachlor reds are used industrially in printing inks.
