Description

A sugary, white Dolomitic marble quarried in Montgomery and Chester counties of Pennsylvania. The quarries have been worked since before the Revolutionary War (Lent 1925). Pennsylvania white was widely used for buildings. It was also used for the sarcophagi of General and Martha Washington (Lent 1925).
