Description
A clear yellowish liquid with an irritating odor that can act as a lachrymator. Phenyl isothiocyanate (PITC) is added to Vikane® fumigant as a warning agent. It is also used in tear gas and mace.

Hazards and Safety
Toxic by inhalation and ingestion. Strongly irritating to tissue.
Decomposes with heat or steam to produce cyanide and sulfur oxide fumes.
