Description
[Polaroid, Cambridge, MA] A registered trademark for a series of products, most notably instant photographic film. Developed by Edwin H. Land in 1926, the first Polaroid product was a polarizing sheet with aligned crystals embedded in plastic. After a series of products, including light filters, infrared goggles, color-view microscopes, the company introduced the Polaroid Land camera with instant developing film in 1948. Polaroid instant film is now available for black and white prints, color prints, color slides (Polachrome), blue and white slides (Polablue), and black and white slides (Polapan).
