Description

[Pure Fishing, Spirit Lake, IA] A brand name for a tightly braided synthetic fishing line typically made from 100% gel-spun polyethylene microfibers. Spiderwire is found in fish and tackle stores. It is extremely strong but soft and flexible. The most common Spiderwire is composed of ultrathin polyethylene filaments with a round cross-section. Numerous colors (colorless, yellow, green, or camoflauge) and strengths (4 lb up to 80 lb) are available. Other options include Teflon coated filaments or fluorocarbon filaments.
