Uemera's notes	The color is what was called "Tsurubami (橡)" in the Buyakuryo (賦役令), the 8th century AD, Japan. The color called "Tsurubami (橡)" in the Engishiki (延喜式), the 10th century AD was slightly more red. This was probably to differentiate it from "Ki-tsurubami-some (黄橡染)". The "Ki-tsurubami-zome" found in the Ibukuryo (衣服令) from the 8th century AD, was also named to differentiate it from black called "Tsurubami (橡)" . In the Ibukuryo, a color called "Koro-sen (黄櫨染)" was not included, whereas in the Engishiki, black named "Tsurubami" was not.
