Description
An acronym for United States Pharmacopoeia. USP is affixed to the label of drugs and chemicals that meet the requirements for purity set by the United States Pharmacopoeia. The initials B.P., for British Pharmacopoeia, serve the same purpose in Britain. These standards are usually below the requirements set for the chemical purity (C.P.) label.
