Description

Any yellow anthraquinone dye. Vat yellows, such as flavanthrene and anthrapyrimidine, are water-soluble in their reduced state. They become insoluble when oxidized forming a strong, stable color. Vat yellows are sometimes used in automobile paints, but other uses are limited because of their high costs.
