Description
A plant exudation that contains both a Natural resin and a carbohydrate gum. A gum-resin exudate never occurs naturally, but rather is the result of a bruise or incision on the plant. The white emulsion can be separated into the two components by extracting the resin portion in Alcohol or the gum portion in Water. Examples of gum resins are Myrrh and Gamboge.
