Description
Several flexible polymers have been used for rubber-like molds and casts. Formerly, Hide glue and Gelatin casts were made by pouring the heated liquid over an item coated with a parting agent. Later Latex molds were made with multiple layers of paint but these failed to retain the original form accurately. More recently Polysulfide, silicone, and urethane rubber have been used with success for reproducing fine details.
