Rust remover
Description
Any of several physical or chemical methods used to remove rust or stain rust stains. Examples of physical cleaning methods are: liquid paraffin oil applied with a fine wool steel wool, flame cleaning, abrasives, or materials sandblasting. Examples of chemical rust removers are solutions that contain: citrate dibasic ammonium citrate, acid citric acid, acid oxalic acid, acid phosphoric acid (Jenolite, Modalene, Jelly Rust Dissolver Naval jelly), thioglycolic acid, acid hydrochloric acid, or hydroxide sodium hydroxide. Often sequestrants and/or surfactants are added to aid in the cleaning process.
