Description
A dye fluorescent dye primarily used to detect proteins. Dansyl chloride has yellow orange crystals. It is also used in fluorescent labeling and as a detection agent for column chromatography.

Other Properties
Soluble in acetone, acetonitrile, methylene chloride. Insoluble in water. Maximum absorption wavelength = 335 nm. Maximum emission wavelength = 500 nm.
