Description

Bright red crystalline powder. Phenolsulfonphthalein, or phenol red, is used as an acid base indicator. It is prepared as a 0.02-0.05% solution in ethanol. In solutions with a pH below pH 6.8, phenolsulfonphthalein is yellow and solutions above pH 8.4 are red.
