Siderin yellow
Description
A yellow pigment composed of iron chromate. Iron chromate is precipitated from a solution of a chromate salt, such as Potassium dichromate by the addition of Ferric chloride. The pure pigment is bright yellow, but some residual impurities, such as iron oxide, may result in a dull orange pigment color. Siderin yellow is compatible with all paint binders. It has also been used as a brown ceramic glaze and as a colorant in glass and enamel.

Hazards and Safety
Human carcinogen. Skin contact may cause allergies. Acute ingestion may cause fatal chromium poisoning. Chronic inhalation may cause lung cancer and respiratory irritation
