Fibers were treated with acetone, but did NOT dissolve, therefore shown to be rayon, not acetate.

Note
|
although a single fiber appears with a twisting cross section typical of cotton, this is the only cotton which was found in the specimens examined. Presence of a single fiber of cotton is insufficient to support identification of cotton as a component of this fabric, since cotton is ubiquitous.
