Acid Fuchsin, sodium salt

Description

A dark, green powder that forms a purplish-red solution in water. In very dilute solutions, Acid Fuchsin is used as a pH indicator, turning from red to colorless at pH 12-14. It is also used as a general, nonspecific stain for proteins.
