Acid Green

Description

The name for the iron complex of 1-nitroso-2-naphthol-6-sulphonic acid. Acid Green was first synthesized in 1883 by Otto Hoffmann and is still commercially available. Since 1956, lakes of AG1 have been denoted as Pigment Green 12 (PG12) in the Colour Index International. The barium sulfate lake of Acid Green 1 is also called Naphthol Green B.
