The Canadian Conservation Institute (CCI) is an operating agency of the Department of Canadian Heritage. CCI was established in 1972 to preserve Canada's cultural heritage and to advance the practice, science, and technology of conservation. Located in Ottawa, CCI is composed of over 80 staff members working in well-equipped conservation and scientific research labs. CCI is recognized as a leader in the areas of preventive conservation, materials research, and information dissemination. They regularly sponsor conferences, produce educational materials, and publish research papers advancing the field of conservation.
