Description
A pale yellow terpenoid oil obtained from a tropical lemongrass (Cymbopogon nardus) native to southern Asia. Other lemongrasses also contain citronella (Cymbopogon citratus, C. nardus and C. winterianus). The oil primarily contains an alcohol (citronellol) and an aldehyde (citronellal). Citronella is used as an Insect repellent, perfume, and Disinfectant.
