Ecsaine
Description
[Toray] A nonwoven microfiber material made from ultra-fine polyester fibers impregnated with polyurethane resin. Ecsaine offers a smooth suede-like surface that resists abrasion and protects harder materials from scratching. It provides excellent state and thickness recovery under pressure. The combination of the polyester fibers with the polyurethane elastomer provides high-frequency sound absorbency along with the ability to absorbs and hold moisture and oils. It is commonly used for sliding or cushioning pads in VR goggles, cameras, headphones and personal computers. Industrially, it is also used for cleaning cloths, filtration components and as covers to make on oil-absorption rollers in steel mills and automotive plants.
A related fabric with with the same composition, but a different surface texture is sold as GS Felt. Ecsaine is a highly brushed product, while GS Felt is a lightly brushed or non-brushed product.
