Description
An airborne vapor, gas or smoke that is noxious or irritating. Fumes are often emitted from evaporating liquids (acids, solvents, etc.), combustion sources (cigarettes, engine exhaust, furnaces, etc.) or chemical reactions. Fume hoods use fans to pull fumes through sorbent filters while at the same time pulling fresh air in as a replacement.
