Description
Molten rock found beneath the surface of the Earth. Magma is mostly liquid rock but may contain crystals of various minerals or a dissolved liquid or gas. Magma may flow into existing rocks (intrusive) or flow out to the surface (extrusive). Magma temperatures typically range from 700 °C to 1300 °C (or 1300 °F to 2400 °F).
