Meshoppen sandstone

Description

A variable color sandstone quarried in Wyoming Valley, Pennsylvania. Meshoppen sandstone can be greenish-gray, bluish-gray or reddish. It was widely used for floors in public buildings and for garden walks (Lent 1925).
