Olefin

Description

A class of aliphatic hydrocarbons that are saturated except for one carbon-carbon double bonds. Also called alkenes, olefins will self-polymerize to form long-chain polymers (Polyethylene, Polypropylene, etc.) that are often manufactured as fibers.
